Intro
How far would you go to save your job? How far would you go to save your and your best friend’s jobs? Well, if you take the stance that Chuck Levine (Adam Sandler) and Larry Valentine (Kevin James) did in the this movie, then you would be a true friend indeed!
This is the story of two perfectly straight NYC Firefighters who form a Domestic Partnership and act gay to fool the insurance company and receive double the benefits. Even though they are trying their best, Chuck and his constant ogling of the female race poses a great threat to uncovering their secret. During their experience, they are called names and shunned like many others in the opposite society, and come out of it with a new look on life.
Dialogue
The lines in this movie are hilarious. There are all kinds of witty and funny comments that really add to the viewing experience. You never knew what was going to come next, and it was all very easy to digest.
Acting
Top-notch. Once again, Adam Sandler gives a fabulous acting performance in this movie, and is aided by Keving James, Jessica Biel, and Dan Aykroyd. Another must-see for any Sandler fans, it ranks with his movies Billy Madison, Waterboy, and The Coneheads.
Plot
Very good. I have never heard of a similar movie in existence with a story like this, so this is already a good movie for being original, which is something that we sadly don’t see much of anymore. The plot moved along at a good pace, and the superb acting and dialogue helped to further strengthen the story.
Music
The scores in the movie were good, and fit well for the scenes and moods portrayed.
Overall
This is a good movie to watch when you have some downtime. I highly recommend it, and it should be rented in the least!
