  • First Post of 2009!

A sneak peak of the 'new' SquidFlicks logo!

Technically, this is the FIRST post of 2009 on SQUIDFLICKS! 😀

Well, it’s been a great year for SquidFlicks, and that’s plenty to celebrate about, but don’t use all your energy – this year is going to be even BETTER! The amount of new things to come is amazing!

So what’s coming up in 2009 for SquidFlicks? Here’s a handy list:

    • New reviewers
    • Rebuttal reviews
    • Movie Debates
    • New SquidFlicks design
    • Revised SquidFlicks logos!
    • SquidFlicks merchandise!
    • More original shorts (creature features!)
    • More episodes of Reel Talk

SquidFlicks also has some resolutions for 2009:

    • 100 new reviews
    • 5 more marathons
    • 10 new episodes of Reel Talk
    • 10 new video reviews
    • 10 new Creature Features

You’ll have to help us maintain our goals!

I am also considering a podcast to end each week, but that is still in developmental stages. There are some items on this list that have not been mentioned on the site before. There is a reason for this – we wanted them to be a surprise, and they will be further explained in the near future. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the holiday (which is almost over, boo!) and check back real soon!

  • A Mysterious Late Night Stranger…

    new-late-night-stranger

There was a strange sighting in the SquidFlicks HQ early this morning. This was the only viewable security camera footage of the perpetrator. I wonder if it’s still around…

    We’ll keep you informed!

  • What Superhero Movie Will Be The Next ‘Dark Knight’?

    The Dark Knight

Here’s a cool article I found on Digg:

Even if The Dark Knight hadn’t broken sales records — and proved a superhero movie could make you think — there would still be a spandex avalanche coming our way in the next few years. But now, it’s inevitable that every one of those films will be compared to Dark Knight. Will any of them measure up?

Personally, I am looking forward to the Green Lantern movie – I had not realized that it was going to be made! It’s one of my favorite comic book hero characters, and it could be a smash hit!

Tell us what you think after the jump!

  • Urban Nights Insider Episode 1 – Meet the producer

    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud3BAGH_6gs

The first film in a mini-series to preview the latest Omega Squid Studios/Horrorhut Production film; Each episode will be short and will feature actors, stories, production, and staff related to the film.

The first of the series features me, the executive producer, introducing Urban Nights and our fund-raising campaign.
This was filmed on the fly with my Fujifilm Finepix s700 digital camera. It takes very good audio and video for a digital camera! It was edited the same day with Pinnacle VideoSpin.

  • Urban Nights: Announcement

    Urban Nights

Urban Nights is a new and upcoming Anthology film written by Patrick Farmer of Horrorhut Productions and produced by Shelby Jones of Omega Squid Studios. It features three smaller tales, which is the definition of an Anthology (many films in one).

The stories are of an Urban Legend-esque theme, and are well planned. Casting has been completed for the film, and all that is needed now is sufficient funding to start filming and production. IN the upcoming weeks, there will be additional posts highlighting the stories, actors, progress, and more related to the Urban Nights production.

  • Attention to all subscribers and visitors

The new hosting server has been purchased, and the next few days will be spent transferring all of the sites and information across to its new home. I will be shutting down the SquidFlicks site until it has been moved over and some updates are made.

There will be a placeholder page to replace SquidFlicks where you can find out the latest information pertaining to the status of the site. IF you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please send them to server+o.squid[at]gmail.com

See you again in a few days! =)

  • What’s Up in May?

Well, April was another stunning and productive month here at SquidFlicks >_>

What is going to happen this month, you ask (or don’t)?

    Answer:

    • New layout
    • New writers
    • More reviews
    • More polls
    • More videos
    • More squid

Just stay tuned. I may shut down SquidFlicks while setting up the new systems, but a replacement page will give you the latest updates.

I am also seriously moving the site’s server this week, and the site WILL be down for a while.

Now you are in the know! =)

Reviews are going to be back as soon as Patrick Our STAFF starts writing them again!
