  • I Ran (but only for a while)

    squidflicks-logo-eye

Fellow SquidFlickians, I am leaving today for my five-week stay in the Governor’s Scholar Program. I will not be able to participate fully in much of the SquidFlicks Summer School content, but I am leaving you in good hands – Patrick Farmer will take over as head editor during my absence. I will continue to post minor updates whenever I can. See you  at the end of July! I have a surprise for you if you’re good! (actually two surprises….) Bottom line here is: YOU BETTER BE GOOD!

Also, SquidFlicks has a Facebook group. Join it or I wont be your friend anymore! Kidding! But join it please! =) Go here – http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/group.php?gid=93904702509

See ya! I can be reached by the SquidFlicks contact form or through Patrick if you need me!

  • April delays

Sorry for the lack of updates, SquidFlicks nation! Things have been real busy here at HQ, and some other projects have taken up review time. This lack of updates should end soon!

Here’s a list of things to look forward to in the next two months:

    • Psycho Mother’s Day SquidFlicks marathon (May 10th)
    • Possibly a NEW SquidFlicks staff member
    • At least 3 more reviews from Shelby!
    • SquidFlicks T-Shirts

    Keep your fingers crossed! =)

  • No gas for Transformers 2

Apparently Transformers 2 is not doing so well financially, and now that General Motors is tuning down it’s sponsorship in the film, money has become even tighter.

It’s reasonable to assume that Micheal Bay is pissed; almost as pissed as Patrick was at me during the filming of Late Night Stranger:

  • Staff Birthday #2 of 2009: Stephanie Sikes!

    cake1[1]

Just when you thought the birthday celebration was over after SquidFlicks staff member Patrick Farmer turned 18 last week – there’s a NEW birthday in SquidFlicks land!

Stephanie Sikes, a relatively new addition to the SquidFlicks staff, is another year older!

With two birthdays now posted, the question arises: Who’s going to do my birthday post? wah wah waaaaaaaah…..

NOW IT’S TIME FOR MR. SIX!

    Coming up today:

    • There is a special article from TIM GROSS appearing in between Parts ONE and TWO! (6:00 AM CST)
    • Part TWO of the St. Patrick’s Day Special, only here at SquidFlicks, 12:00 PM CST. You don’t want to miss it! =) Hint – It’s a video!

  • SquidFlicks T-Shirt Design: The Choice is Yours!

Well, after much discussion and quite a bit of designing by yours truly, a SquidFlicks T-Shirt Design is finally alive! The only problem is choosing the final color of the shirt! Vote below and decide the fate of the blessed squid!

Pricing and purchase information will come soon after final vote is taken. I plan on leaving the voting open until Monday of next week (March 16).

  • It’s just not like the movies…

Sometimes the movies are more exciting than real life, as depicted in the following examples:

    • Bank Robbery
    • High School Dance
    • Car Chase
    • Bar Fight
    • Poker Game

Pretty great examples if you ask me, but I could think of a few more to put up there:

    • War
    • Airline Crash
    • Jailbreak
    • School in general (ha)

    What do you think?
