I am Legend
Intro
3 years after the miracle cure for cancer is developed, less than 1% of the human population is still alive. The cure contained a modified virus that mutated, and turned its host into a vampiric monster that preys on others in the darkness. The disease spread quickly, and almost every person in the world was either killed or turned into one of the monsters.
Set in the year 2012, I am Legend is the story of how Robert Neville (Will Smith) spent his last 3 years of life in New York City trying to find the cure to the kv virus. Every day he forages for food and signals by radio for other survivors. He is safe as long as he gets home before sundown…

‘I am Legend’ Breaks the December Bank
SquidFlicks Box Office Hit
As you may or may not already know, Will Smith’s performance in the movie that SquidFlicks previously previewed, I am Legend, has broken the box office all-time high for December release weekends. Grossing well over 76.5 million dollars, it easily passed all other competition.
It seems that our preview was pretty accurate – this looks like a great movie, and I want to see it so that we can share the review with others! =)
P.S. This is the first in another new feature of SquidFlicks – Box Office Hits and Box Office Blunders!

The Eye
Official SquidFlicks Preview
Summary
Sydney Wells is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen, Sydney learns to see again. But Sydney’s happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney’s mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney’s family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

Some Upcoming Reviews
I have been bogged down lately with school and other projects, so I have not kept up with the reviews as I needed to have been. There are, however, several reviews that are still being written behind the scenes here…
The list to come (hopefully) before the end of the month includes in no particular order:
- Dodgeball
- Old School
- Castaway
- Airplane
- The Office (NEW! TV Series reviews are coming soon!) =o
- Blades of Glory
- Pursuit of Happiness
Like I said, it’s not set in concrete, and there could *possibly* be more reviews and a special Christmas treat if you are good to SquidFlicks! 😉
Tell your friends! We are so happy to see our subscriber count rise! =)

Wayne’s World
Intro
Mike Myers and Dana Carvey play as Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar, two young adults who run a public access cable show out of the basement of Wayne’s house, who still lives with his parents. The show is called Wayne’s World, and is very popular within their small town of Aurora, Illinois. They frequently visit the Gasworks, a rock and roll club, where Wayne meets the love of his life – rocker Cassandra. As he tries to impress here, the Wayne’s World TV show is bought out by a larger producer, he tries to manipulate it to his own selfish desires. Wayne, Garth, and the rest of the gang team up to get the show back, and continue to be free! Excellent!
