As you may or may not already know, the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards are tomorrow at 8pm ET/5pm PT on ABC.
There are a lot of great shows and actors nominated for the many categories, but here are a few selections that I think should be made. Feel free to agree/disagree in the comments! 😉
The Emmys are another prestigious award that TV shows and series can earn – and often the winners are well deserving of the award. After watching the awards every year, I end up seeing shows that were winners just to see if I liked them.
Enough jabber, on to the predictions!
Outstanding Comedy Series
Out of all five shows, I would have to pick The Office as the best comedy series for the Emmy. Just two years ago, the series picked up the same award (2006 Outstanding Comedy Series) and I think that it deserves an encore this year.
Outstanding Drama Series
I am liking House, M.D. as the winner, but it faces stiff competition, especially from LOST, which would also be a good pick for this award.
Outstanding Mini Series
Andromeda Strain should win this, hands down. I have actually been meaning to get my review of this movie/series for some time now. To sum it up – awesome! 🙂
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
Steve Carell of The Office deserves this award. He is what makes the show so hilarious!
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
I like Hugh Laurie of House, M.D. in this category, but once again there is some pretty stiff competition.
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
I believe that Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) should get this Emmy, but that’s because I love to watch Law & Order.
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Rainn Wilson, who plays as Dwight, the odd-but-loyal Assistant to the Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin Paper, Scranton Branch and Regional Manager Micheal Scott should win this category’s award, hands down.
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Amy Poehler of SNL should receive this Emmy – her characters are always entertaining, especially her Hillary Clinton act put on during the democratic primary season.
Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series
I find this a difficult choice between Saturday Night Live and the Late Show with David Letterman. I suppose I would have to side with David Letterman, because SNL hasn’t been as funny as it has been in the past few seasons.
Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality – Competition Program
Howie Mandel of Deal or no Deal is my choice for the Emmy in this category, but as always, anything goes!

That concludes my picks for many of the categories of the Emmy awards. I left off categories that I had no knowledge of, and I hope that maybe you could make suggestions for those categories.
As for my picks, I would like to hear if you agree or not – just leave a comment below! (I also can’t wait to see how many of my picks turn out right!)
Look forward to this kind of post for every Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Awards on SquidFlicks from here on out! 🙂
